Sabbath Day Devotional 6-7-25

 Habakkuk 3:19 AMPC

19 The Lord God is my Strength, my personal bravery, and my invincible army; He makes my feet like hinds’ feet and will make me to walk [not to stand still in terror, but to walk] and make [spiritual] progress upon my high places [of trouble, suffering, or responsibility]!

For the Chief Musician; with my stringed instruments.

Read The Book of Habakkuk in your quiet time. It is only three chapters, and I am paraphrasing, but it speaks of deep oppression among the Jews being in captivity and cruelly treated by wicked countries. Habakkuk is a prophet of God and by having a strong relationship with God, he knows those who are doing the harm will eventually suffer cruel treatment themselves. In the end Habakkuk tells of the oppressed to lean on God, He will deliver them when they stop doubting and begin trusting in Him; however, God allows us to have hardships because it will give us strength and trust that when we call on God, He answers.

But many of us “walk” away from God instead of towards Him.

Now “walk” in Hebrew means Spiritual authority, maturity.

Jesus told so many in the New Testament when He healed them to walk. The lame man by the pool of Bethesda, (which once a year the Angel from Heaven stirred up the water and anyone who was able to get in the water at that time was healed) This man laid dormant for 38 years and Jesus asked him, “Do you want to be healed” and the man answered, “yes, but there is no one to put me in the pool.” Scripture tells us Jesus looked at him and said, “Pick up your bed and walk”.  ( John 5:1-15) In other words, you have authority over whatever is hindering you from living, walk in your authority, not Satan’s.
