Psalms 139:23-24 AMPC “Search me [thoroughly], O God, and know my heart! Try me and know my thoughts! And see if there is any wicked or hurtful way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.” How many of us are truly sincere about a heart change? Do we “really” want God to search us “thoroughly” and know our heart? I, personally do want to know; but I’m here to tell you, you won’t like it. We don’t see ourselves as arrogant, prideful, rude, angry, controlling, anxious, fearful, easily offended, unforgiving, quarrelsome, prejudice, or jealous. There’s more, but I’ll stop for now! These are just a few characteristics many of us have developed over the years from lack of a relationship with God. There is nothing else or no excuse that will uphold it! We look to our left and right (as the Bible puts it) instead of God for the answer to our problems.
