Every "New Year" brings new things, but we must transform our minds and hearts to let go of the old and embrace the new. Once a door is closed in the spirit, it cannot be opened, yet we hold on to the past that keeps our minds trapped to something that is debilitating rather than enlightening. Thoughts and words have power, and scripture tells us in Proverbs 18:21, "Death and Life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof." If you are a believer and a servant of God you know the importance of prayer. There should not be a day go by, yes seven days a week, that you pray. Whereas, you leave the door open for attacks from the enemy.   I am appalled at how many    people do not pray “daily” for their loved ones and others. There are many that do, but most do not. I heard something so profound on YouTube about three weeks ago  from an African woman who came to America to visit and made a comment to an American, which made me pause on that video to tune in and listen. She said, “Why do Americans take Tylenol so much? They have a little headache and they take a Tylenol like it is nothing” (in her African accent). She continued, “Americans take pills too much for simple things.” In that moment, I started reflecting back over years of how pushing pills and caffeine on people has ignited the majority of our children’s drug addictions today;  and I will add cigarettes ......that is killing millions - young and old. Doctors, Pharmaceutical companies, and those not Christ minded push these drugs for wealth, and material gain.
