Newborn babies are are so precious. As a Mother, you carry
them with your hands and your heart. Your baby needs you to feed them, to bathe
them, and to nurture them. When you go out of the house, you prepare a diaper
bag that is filled with extra clothes, bottles/baby food, diapers, blankets,
medicine, wipes, toys, and depending on where you are going, a stroller in the trunk.
You continue being prepared,
or I did, until your child is at least 8 years old, carrying a jacket or sweat
shirt in the trunk to family and friend picnics, and short trips to the zoo, or museums. I also packed bug spray, hats, extra shoes,
and if they started out in shorts, I packed pants or pajamas for the trip home.
I always prepared my children,
even in high school for the day and made sure they had what they needed! It
does not take that much time or preparation to do so, but I’ve noticed many,
not all, Mothers do not pack a diaper back for their babies after they are
walking and potty trained.
I have seen Mothers scold
their children if they have an accident or spill something on their clothes (at
2 or 3 years old) and tell that child it’s their fault and they know better.
Being a Mother entails more
than dressing a child up and going out to receive compliments and approval from
the world~ it involves preparing your child at every stage in life to face the
world “everyday” with confidence, acceptance and knowing they are loved!
“The Kingdom of Heaven can be
illustrated by the story of ten bridesmaids who took their lamps and went to meet
the bridegroom. But only five of them were wise enough to fill their lamps with
oil, while the other five were foolish and forgot.
“So, when the bridegroom was delayed, they lay down to rest until
midnight, when they were roused by the shout, ‘The bridegroom is coming! Come
out and welcome him!’
“All the girls jumped up and trimmed their lamps. Then the five
who hadn’t any oil begged the others to share with them, for their lamps were
going out.
“But the others replied, ‘We haven’t
enough. Go instead to the shops and buy some for yourselves.’
“But while they were gone, the
bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the marriage
feast, and the door was locked.
“Later, when the other five returned,
they stood outside, calling, ‘Sir, open the door for us!’
“But he called back, ‘Go away! It is
too late!’
“So stay awake and be prepared, for you
do not know the date or moment of my return. Matthew
