Psalms 139:23-24 AMPC
“Search me [thoroughly], O God, and know my heart! Try me and know my thoughts! And see if there is any wicked or hurtful way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.”
How many of us are truly sincere about a heart change? Do we “really” want God to search us “thoroughly” and know our heart? I, personally do want to know; but I’m here to tell you, you won’t like it. We don’t see ourselves as arrogant, prideful, rude, angry, controlling, anxious, fearful, easily offended, unforgiving, quarrelsome, prejudice, or jealous. There’s more, but I’ll stop for now! These are just a few characteristics many of us have developed over the years from lack of a relationship with God. There is nothing else or no excuse that will uphold it! We look to our left and right (as the Bible puts it) instead of God for the answer to our problems. I always say, we look horizontally instead of vertically- which is we look to people (whom God created) for answers, and we are all broken and some are shattered who are not wise enough to put all the pieces back together for themselves - how are they going to help you?
Look at us in this pandemic, we are all wandering in the wilderness (no path or direction) of what to do, how to proceed, and what will stop it! There is one answer, EVERY KNEE SHALL BOW and EVERY TONGUE CONFESS THAT JESUS IS LORD and repent and turn away from our wicked ways, and God will heal the land!
