Fly at "Full" Staff

I was born and raised in a small Indiana town of approximately thirty-thousand people. I moved away close to 12 years ago, and have returned to live with my parents temporarily.

The neighborhood was predominantly African/American citizens with strong Christian values, they truly loved you, encouraged you, and stood by you whether you were their child or not! Many of those who established my foundation are with God now; however, their morals and values are alive and well in those who had the privilege of experiencing Christ in them!

It is disheartening to see that even though this town is predominantly white, it still separates and divides in most of the churches. There are two African/American churches (African American Episcopal [A.M.E] and Broadway Baptist) still in existence today with low attendance~ My prayer right now is all the local churches open their doors for “ALL” people to worship!

“As for the Gentiles, the outsiders who join the people of the Lord and serve him and love his name, who are his servants and don’t desecrate the Sabbath, and have accepted his covenant and promises, I will bring them also to my holy mountain of Jerusalem and make them full of joy within my House of Prayer.
I will accept their sacrifices and offerings, for my Temple shall be called “A House of Prayer for "All" People”! Isaiah 56:6-7 TLB

If many of us know the history of The United States, you are aware it was found on biblical values. The people of yesterday got it. They understood the importance of God in everything. The Civil War was not fought to bring us to division, but to bring us to unity in Christ and as a nation.

Our flag was also created to represent strength and unity. However, we separate and divide. The colors Red, White, and Blue were “on purpose” chosen. White signifies purity and innocence, Red signifies hardiness and valour, and Blue, the color of the Chief (the broad band above the stripes), signifies vigilance, perseverance, and justice (http://www.usflag.org/colors.html).

Are you building walls of separation around you or are you tearing them down so you can love thy neighbor?

Then Peter began to speak: “I now realize how true it is that God does not show favoritism  but accepts from every nation the one who fears him and does what is right. Acts 10:34-35 NIV
